I'm often asked what qigong is and why I got into it. Qigong is an act of self-love. We truly learn to heal ourselves from the inside out. The depth and abundance of healing this ancient practice offers is truly unlimited.

Interested in experiencing qigong for yourself? Here’s a quick practice to help you feel connected and balanced.

These qigong moves help to release tension and discomfort from your neck, shoulders, and back.

Looking for a longer practice? The qigong moves in this routine help to clear the energetic imbalances that are associated with depression, anxiety, and stress.

Since the Old Man exercise is extremely purging, always do Pulling Down the Heavens afterward. This brings in grounding, healing energy from the earth and heavens. Otherwise, you may find that a lot of heavy emotions linger on the surface (anger, grief, etc.).

One of the foundational practices of tai chi, the most well-known style of qigong, is cultivating yin and yang, or moving from empty (yin) to full (yang).

These movements help to: Tonify (strengthen) the fire element of the heart, and the water element of the kidneys; Increase lower back flexibility and strength; Balance emotional energy; Calm the mind; and Lower blood pressure.
